Hi,

I'm trying to identify a MacGregor glove I owned bought about 1970 from Herman's Sporting Goods chain in Smithaven Mall , Eastern Long Island NY for $39.99

I remember these markings (from looking at it in Center Field....!) .....Hand Lasted, Nylon Sewn (I thought this was Nolan Ryan's cousin I think for two years)
Made In USA on thumb with Bird/eagle logo (I believe), Steerhide, Flex Pad, Natural Ball Pocket....

I believe there was no Player signature/endorsement though it might have said Professional or Pro on it.....the webbing was closed with a unique pattern of leather - it was fairly expensive for the time = 40 bucks was a lot I remember and it may have been purchased earlier (1968 -1970)....the logo on the wrist strap was red and 'crown' shaped I seem to remember and it was pretty big. .......it had a rather thick 'heel' which seems to fit in with others of that time period....anyone have any idea which model this is? and if there is one for sale ? Thanks for looking !

Joe Phillips' Vintage Catalog Source Book lists a MacGregor GC5 Pro Customed model that retailed for $40 from 1968-69. I have a GCP Pro Customed model that sold for $48 those same years. Here are pictures of it. Is it similar to the glove you had? Keep checking ebay. Eventually one will turn up.
