Eddie Miller was one of the best fielding shortstops of the 1940's, a seven time All Star. But he had one scary looking glove.

Reminds me of THE CREATURE which was the name given to Walt Weiss' glove.

There's more to this than the Raggedy Ann glove.
Note: that's Marty Marion, often referred to as "Mr. Shortstop" looking over the deadbeat or beatdead glove of "The Crab." Marion acknowledged Miller as a premier shortstop in an interview in Sports Collectors Digest years ago. Marion used a longer finger glove than Miller.
Note: often middle infielders of this era would cut holes in their gloves like Durocher, Bartell, etc.
This is one of my favorite glove photos. 8)

That's the wartime sleeve patch from 1942 to 1945. Looks like "Slats" has a newer glove.
A number of the Eddie Miller MacGregor mint and mint in box retail gloves have turned up. A few in the "Dr. Mace" sale of the 1980s.
Marion had a percentage deal with Rawlings on retail sales of his endorsed gloves.

Joe and Okdoak,

Very cool pic of the Miller glove with an altered palm. Wish I could see the web a bit clearer on that old glove.

Happy New Year guys.
