I was never an A2000 guy (too late for my taste), but as a glove collector, I always appreciated them and understood the truly innovative design. I really believe it was the most important glove in baseball design history replacing the Doak til that point. It defined what all gloves should essentially look like from then on since it's introduction in the Spring of '57 ('58 retail). Anyway, cool that the same model number was introduced in 1951.

That's correct. The only endorsed Wilson A2000 ever made. To be fair, it's not the same A2000 introduced to the Major League in 1957 or the same glove introduced to the public in 1958 but it does bear the same number. They even made a A2002 in 1951. The left hand throw variation.

Here's a 1962 Wilson A2000 "Shooting Star" model endorsed by Juan Marichal. I posted it in a different section of the forum a while back. It sold for $649.

Check out what I've had hanging in a shadowbox in my office for all these years. This super cool gift was courtesy of Eric Staples. He had William Peebles make me a Jim Daniel JD Shooting Star model. Love it!

I was happy too JD…I had William do up 3 of these for three of the people I felt like invested a ton of their own time, research, and money into the hobby with these websites for all get to enjoy and communicate/share with one another…also keeping it interesting constantly for us all to enjoy the info and pics. Brett, Mike T., and yourself…so you’re welcome and thank you for all you 3 do to make the hobby fun and continually moving forward!! Maybe Brett and Mike can chime in here and show us theirs as well?? There the “latest” versions of the A2000…and fully endorsed;) I must admit, I had a good idea what I wanted and was trying to do, William took the idea and ran with it. William did a stellar job as usual and deserves most of the credit…I’m jealous and wish I had thought to have him make me one as well…maybe another day;). Btw…these were made a few years ago, not a recent addition to JD’s collection…
