Moore & Evans Sporting Goods circa 1905

A.T. Evans started in the jewelry business in 1880 and founded A.T. Evans Jewelry in 1891 in Chicago. At the turn of the century the name was changed to Moore & Evans Jewelry located at 304 Masonic Temple.
During the first decade as sporting goods became highly popular, Moore & Evans moved to a larger location on Wabash Ave. and opened a sporting goods dept.
The 1905 Sporting Goods Catalog features their own brand of gloves but I suspect they were made by another manufacturer. For one thing the gloves display a different model number than the catalog listing and a couple statements refer to Victor Sporting Goods equipment and Louisville Slugger for other athletic needs. The catalog can be downloaded at http://www.baseballglovecollector.com
This jewelry trademark is similar to the cloth patch on the gloves
