Vintage Baseball Glove Forum

I found this guy at a thrift store and didn't know what to think think I'm a modern collector. Thought it looked too cool to pass up for under $2 and could either make me some good money or a good collection piece.

Leather seems pretty dang nice, cracked vinyl binding, metal rivets in web, missing the web, button wrist strap, thin leather liner, no finger lacing.

Reads: Sonnett Craft Built. Top Grain. Flexotan? "Flash" Gordon. Looks like the model # is P4F?

Any info in this guy? Year? Value? Quality of glove in comparison to others during era? What the web might look like?

The Sonnett Flash Gordon is a pretty common glove. It dates to late 1940's and maybe into the early, early 50's. The model you are describing is one of the lower line gloves - most likely intended for use by a kid or teenager. You didn't attach a picture but I'm guessing the web is probably one tunnel. Gordon gloves are very common and unless in mint/box condition, don't bring a lot of money.
