Anyone know this Feller model?

I've seen a Higgins with a similar back, although it has a buckle and this one seems to not have it:

Has anyone seen this particular model? Is it a Higgins?

Good question. I don't remember seeing a Higgins or Wilson with a laced back like that. Maybe one of our other members has? In fact, the only gloves that I can think of in that style are the D&M Chuck Klein and Rawlings Billy Herman (which has double laces thru the fingers ala Ken-Wel).

There's this photo too which looks to be a similar glove? And the patch, is that a Rawlings patch?

Very cool picture and that is indeed a Rawlings patch. Joe's Source Book shows the Billy Herman glove listed in their 1938-42 catalogs, so the time frame is right, and it was one of their top of the liners. I don't see the finger laces, but maybe every Herman model didn't have them. Or Rawlings had another laced back model? You can check out Brett's Rawlings Billy Herman on his website.

Interesting...thanks for that info!!
The second pic I posted doesn't look to have the finger lacing, however this one looks like it does have it, although I'm not
sure if the two pics are from the same time period:

I found a couple more pictures of Bob Feller with that same style Rawlings lace back. This one has an added rolled lace at the top of the web. The one of him with Hal Newhouser is from 1946.

One more from the top laced days:

And one from 1937, seems to be a different model:

Alright John. Did you see this Feller glove pic in your other thread. Looks like a Lefty Grove Rainey Trap web to me.

I'm beginning to think Feller simply grabbed whatever glove he could off the bench when he went out to pitch!
That Grove model, would it be a Reach glove?

Your 1937 picture of Bob may show him using a glove from a label that he actually endorsed for a change

To me it looks a lot like JD's Carl Hubbell Wilson 600. Hmm...Now what's Joe D. wearing? Think that's a Rawlings patch on his glove?

Neat video. Looks like he had that glove when he was in the Navy, too.

Old topic, but I happened upon a pic from the Feller Museum of one of his gloves:

From a 1939 catalog in the section of pitchers models. Triple tunnel web model number 900. Interesting what the "leather patch wrist" means?
