D&M GC Alexander?

I know about the Stall & Dean GC Alexander model gloves, as well as the JC Higgins. I didn't know he actually had a signature model for the D&M (saw it at JD's site).
How rare are the D&M models? Did he use a D&M glove and then switch to a Stall & Dean or did he only endorse the S&D and Higgins gloves and not use them?
I have a good shot of GC at home in a baseball book with him sitting in a dugout holding a glove by the strap. Dark glove and looks to be a Stall & Dean based on the back. I'll have to scan it and post it up here...

One of my favorite items. It's not that old, but it was up in a sports display for a long time.

I don't think the D&M Alexanders are particularly scarce - they pop up from time to time.

What would be a current "going rate" for one Brett?

For a D&M? Wow.
Are the Stall & Dean the more sought after models?

It's all relative - some people like one brand more than the other, some are trying to collect all brands.

For a D&M Alexander? I have only ever seen one - EVER. S&D's and JC Higgins are plentiful but not D&M's and Marathons in my opinion. Why don't we have more pics of D&M Alexanders? Could someone please send me some and I'll upload them to the D&M Gallery. Thanks.

I suppose any G99 could be considered a GCA as he used that model, right?

Not necessarily. I’ve seen a few D&M G99’s, but only one of which was endorsed by Alexander. It’s the one you’re referencing on JD’s site and it last changed hands about a decade ago for $4,250, if I remember correctly. The current owner has no intention of selling it any time soon, trust me, I’ve tried, and the list of guys who want it is multiple pages long!

Nearly 5 grand!
Wow!
The only reason I figured a G99 would work was he was
listed as using one in the D&M catalog.
Looks like a Stall & Dean or JC Higgins is the way to go :p

Alexander appears in advertisements endorsing D&M products as a user of their goods, but an actual Alexander endorsed glove has never appeared in a D&M catalog. None that have been found, at least. As far as I know, that D&M G99 Alexander on JD’s site is the sole example, that’s why it always commanded the premiums it received whenever it changed hands. Could it be that the G99 in question was actually Alexander’s? Possible, but it can never be proven with any certainty. Like Jim said, if anyone else has one, we’d love to see pictures of it, because we’ve only seen the one, so far. As for picking up an Alexander, S&D’s and Higgins are much more plentiful and more reasonably priced. But if you can get your hands on a D&M Alexander, don’t hesitate.

Cool info!
That would be pretty nuts if it were his glove!
