Three questions Murph: where did you find that, what year is ad from and what does the ad mean by the "patented clasp" on the fielders glove? Would that be some sort of lacing, a snap, a buckle or hook? I really like the "Victor" stuff.

Got it today It was in an envelope that contained a program for kids to sell magazine subscription and girl could win a doll and boys the baseball equipment. The flyer is 5 x 8 they do not explain what is mention in the description. The envelope is dated 1912

Just a cool baseball item. To think you could sell $3 of subscriptions and get a 7 piece baseball set mailed to you is fantastic

I wonder if victor made a special box for the set

I agree, a nice piece of memorabilia. I looked around the Google Patents and the "patent clasp" of the fielders glove may refer to a ball and socket type snap at the wrist strap button. The "patent fastener" of the catchers mitt may refer to the thumb strap for which Victor was well known. Interesting that the date was 1912. The gloves in the flyer seem earlier. Since these were childrens equipment, the older designs carried through for a longer period. The Victor equipment catalog of the day constructed the youth model catchers mitt with the laced wrist opening while the better models utilized the more expensive buckle wrist straps.

"When you get this outfit you can get on any baseball nine that you wish to join." In that case, I'll buy two!
