Just found out that the National Baseball Hall of Fame purchased some copies of John's book for their files and hopefully for their retail store. Great job John. For those of you who don't have your copy yet, you need it. John's book can be purchased at his website.

P.S. - Start your libraries with this one. There are more glove collecting books on the way in the future...

Hey JD,

That is great! Congrats John and keep up the good work. I hope it wets the appetite for the glove hobby even further. :D

You know we've come a "long way baby". . . when you compare John's delicious tome with the first effort in the hobby to that of Jim Mace's rendition. Not to disrespect Mace that much, who based his assumptions around his father's collection of gloves, but we've had 20 years to gain a gigantic perspective of what can be purchased in our hobby from the classic hall of famers to stars who may have only a few gloves produced for them, I can think of Connie Mack, Bill McKechnie and Casey Stengel (all noted manager after their playing career) as three recent discoveries that John has snagged.
I've shown John's book to several non-collectors who marvel that these gloves and our hobby exist. They are astonished at the quality of half-to-century old gloves in the often pristine condition that
they're in.
I tote my copy into my card shop on my regular visits where the proprietor enjoys re-visiting it and a customer or two will shuffle through its pages.
