Hi, I'm new to glove collecting. I recently ran across a Rawlings RJ35 Clete Boyer model and I'm having a really difficult time finding any information on this glove on the web. It's pretty worn but I'm looking forward to see how nice I can make it. If any of you gents has any information on this model I would really appreciate it.

Hello
The RJ model indicates that it was most likely made for a specific department/chain store. We had discussion recently about another glove with a RJ model - I think it was a Ken Boyer glove. The model you have is a lower line model that Rawlings made in the 60's, probably for use by a youth.

The earlier discussion to which Brett refers was about an RJ 80 from 1963, endorsed by Clete's brother Ken, as Brett notes. You can find pictures and discussion from an earlier post of mine. The two gloves are of substantially different design, though, and I would guess had different target markets. I know there are various other Ken Boyer-endorsed Rawlings gloves out there, but I wonder if there are any with endorsements by any of the other Boyer boys? I know brother Cloyd was a pitcher, and I think some of the other brothers played minor league ball.
