Hey Guys,

I just picked this up the other day.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... _500wt_928

Has anyone else seen one around or know anything about this model?

Frank played Baseball and Basketball at Ohio University in the 40's, and I've begun collecting anything Ohio recently (I'm an alum), so I couldn't pass it up when I found it.

Thanks!

Frankie was on a couple of different MacGregor models the G122 and GB6 according to Glove Source Book, may have been on earlier ones from 1952 or before. He, unfortunately, had the distinction of playing centerfield for the Cubs with two of the slowest outfielders in the game flanking him: Ralph Kiner and Hank Sauer in the early 1950s. Frank had cover a LOT of ground.
Oh, the G122 was one of the lower price end gloves in 1953. Youth model.

I didn't know Frank was a Bobcat! I'm up in Columbus but get down that way fairly often, as my wife has family in the area. My nephew plays youth football and they have their playoff and championship games in OU's stadium.

Yep! Frank played Baseball and Basketball here at Ohio. He actually lead the Bobcat Basketball team to the 1941 NIT Championship game. Was also the first athlete to play two professional sports at the same time (Baseball and Basketball).

I actually found this one last night. http://www.antiquemystique.com/pages/11662_jpg.htm It's not in quite as good of condition as the one I picked up, but it's half the price. Unfortunately I don't think the wife is going to let me have two!

Bret- Do you ever make it to any OU games down here? Bobcat Football and Basketball should be pretty exciting this season!
