Nosing thru the glove files

1. Honus Wagner Sporting Goods Co., Pittsburgh, Pa. had shot of Honus sitting on his bat. Advertises a Wagner League ball guaranteed for 18 innings.
2. Macy's selling a complete 5 piece rookie "Big League" Baseball Uniform
3. Davega Sporting Goods of New York city. Advertising, amongh others, a Duke Snider Playmaker for $5.94.
4. Newman-Stern Co of Cleveland. This was owned by Paul Newman's family. The ad features a tie-in ad with Wilson Sporting Goods, "grown up together."
5. Gateway Sporting Goods Co, Kansas City, Mo. Selling gloves for Joe Marty, a Bill Doak, Zeke Bonura, "Gabby Hartnett."
6. Frederick A. Field, Des Moines, Iowa promoting Ted Kennedy's "League Backstop Glove...with adjustable thumb." Price, $10.00 and ask (these catchers) among others: Buck Ewing, Jack Boyle, Will Robinson, Connie Mack.
We glovers run across some of these names from time to time. Seems like there was a Newman Stern Mickey Mantle glove someone found years ago.
