That is odd, especially since Rapid Robert endorsed and used Wilson gloves during his career. I'm thinking that the reporter got his notes wrong. Either that or Mr. Feller remembers Wilson with the same affection as Brett Favre does with the Packers?!

Bob Feller definitely knows what he used. I remember seeing him a few years back in Cooperstown and had him sign a Higgins glove. He spent no less than three minutes telling me all about it. He may not have his fastball, but he's still got his memory.

That's an interesting article. I read in The Treasures of Major League Baseball a similar thing on equipment and how player's become attached to their equipment. It said Walt Weiss played 12 seasons with his glove which had to be held together by fishing line towards the end of his career. It was so ugly in appearance that teammate Mike Bordick called it "The Creature". It also said that during the 1989 World Series, when the earthquake shook Candlestick Park, that Mike Gallego in a dark disheveled clubhouse room was on his hands and knees trying to find his glove. Aw, the things we do for love!

Yes that was a great article. Which made me want to thank again Rick Bulldog and Carl for helping me with the Rawlings Norm Sievern glove that I received last week. It was my second glove and had alot of GREAT memories. Hope the rest of you still have your old gloves or can find the same make, model, etc. With their help I was very lucky.
