"Son of Glove Collecting"

Could have easily called this thread "Bride of Glove Collecting" or any other b-movie sequel title. In any event, just curious as to what other glove related stuff you guys collect besides actual gloves? We've all come upon collecting dry spells where our innate desire to accumulate things diverts us in different directions and tangents while remaining true to our initial glove focus.

When I began acquiring gloves, that's all I wanted, nothing else. I had no interest in "other" things like silly boxes, catalogs or hang tags. As time passed and droughts occurred, however, I found myself picking up trinkets along the way that related to gloves. Have you found yourself doing this too or are you strictly focused on the leather?

Can you add to this list of glove related collectibles? Perhaps post a photo or two of your favorites.

Manufacturer Stamping Dies???? I think you have evolved way beyond "passion". Although I have to admit they would be cool to see.

Hmmm, do I have anything else glove related. Sure!! Here are some pics below of catalogs, advertising, glove pictures, etc. Over the past year or so I've started adding real photo baseball postcards that have pictures of gloves.

Mr. Mitt, how about some pictures from you. 8)

I love the photo of the braud with the huge glove!

I had a bunch of catalogs years ago, but let them all go. They were a fantastic source of information and had pretty pictures. :) I'd suggest that you take a look at Jim's website and checkout his library link. There are oodles of catalogs (still growing) to peruse (as well as glove articles).

I'll send a few pics to Brett for him to post since I'm one of the computer illiterate old guys here.

Wonderful stuff, guys. I love looking thru the catalogs with the pictures of the old time players and their gloves. Also love the salesmanship of that time; Ken Wel says their Dazzy Vance glove closes around the ball like a "spring loaded trap". I do like glove boxes alot also, but so does everyone else on ebay, so I only have a few. The prices realized are as amazing as the boxes themselves sometimes. Also like the little booklets that were included with the gloves. Not as spectacular as a box, but easier on my wallet!
