Vintage Baseball Glove Forum

While going thru some game glove photos, I came across a shot of Warren Spahn and Johnny Sain (Boston Braves) chatting it up and posing with a baseball in Warren's left hand. Here's the puzzler, on the wrist strap written in marker on Spahnie's glove are the initials "E. W." Now Warren's full name is Warren Edward Spahn. Is he being cute on his I.D.? Sain had some sort of hiroglyphics on his wrist strap. This shot must have been taken during a day of rain I suppose.
