Hi everybody. First post here and hope I'm following the correct procedure. Recently, I obtained a MacGregor glove and the pocket has a Chap Peters signature on it. Is this a nickname for Gary Peters? Thank you - Scott

Never heard of a "Chap" Peters glove on any glove brand. Gary Peters was a Spalding endorser so doubt it was him.

The glove is in excellent condition. It's endorsed by MacGregor and has a CP stamped directly above the MacGregor Made in the USA label. It also has Natural Ball Pocket and Flex-Pad stamped as well.
I'm still not sure how to post a picture on this forum. I took several pictures and would like to post to show everyone.
This glove was in a box of gloves that I picked up - which included a Spalding 133 Joe Dimaggio, MacGregor Goldsmith Birdie Tebbetts, and a very small Jimmy Outlaw mitt (manufacturer unknown).

Well, Scott, what you seem to have there is...a mystery!
I couldn't find any record of Gary Peters going by the nickname "Chap" and, as Joe notes, Gary Peters seems to have endorsed only Spalding gloves.
MacGregor did have a run of gloves with the model number "GCP" in the late 60's- they were top-of-the-line pro models- but I can't find a "CP" model.
To find out how to post a picture, go to the "Vintage Glove Pictures" section. There is a "sticky post" at the top of that page with instructions.

Maybe this is a custom made glove for a Chap Peters by MacGregor.
Chap Peters = CP. This has happened before in the glove business.
