I know I'm not outing this auction because it's clearly listed in the glove catergory and I'm sure everyone has seen it by now. This is a very good looking Goldsmith glove I'd like to have a little fun with this auction - let's see who has the closest guess to the finding ending price (not including shipping). Winner receives the honor of wearing a smug smile on their face for 2 days.

I've been thinking the same thing. In The Price is Right Fashion, I'll guess $1,328.53, one cent higher. Just kidding. Here are my thoughts. The red Spalding 1" web last month went to Jeff, who seems to go deep on Spalding gloves. This one is a hair older, light in color and has an asbestos lining. In my opinion, it is a little more desirable but will it have the same action? I'll guess $1,500. Nice glove, almost too nice.

I don't believe it will go for as much as the red Spalding keeping in mind that the Spalding had never been used still containing all of the silver and even the original price tag...I am going to say that it will probably still reach 1,250...Only god knows what Mr. Spaldinger put in for his max big on the red glove we will just never know...It comes down to how much someone wants it and what they think it will take to get it...

Yes this glove is older then the red Spalding but it does not have the original price tag or all the silver...Im sticking to 1,250... ...should I save that smile for when I am right lol

To me, this one has much more eye appeal than the Spalding - if I had a choice between the two it wouldn't take more than .0001 seconds to go with the Goldsmith. And hopefully the glove makes it to the end of the auction so we can see the high bid.

I messaged the guy right when I found and and I told him he will probably get a lot of offers and to please let it run...He told me you are exactly right I have already had three offers of 50, 75, and 500 and I am going to let it run....I dont think we have any worries...He also told me it is on consignment

Does anyone think it odd that there's not the hint of stamping on the palm.
Nor is the size given. Would suspect it's low end product, maybe youth model. Can't argue with the preservation though. Whatever it was dipped in, they can do it to me.

Where the heck was this person in SOCAL? I'm surprised one of us didn't stumble upon this gem! HAHA! Beautiful glove. Joe, I agree with you on that it seems strange how it appears so flawless, but doesn't have any blazing stamping or any evident stamping. My guess is $1,400 and I'll go a step further and tell you who won't win.....ME..Haha! Fun to watch though................RBD

1385.51, and I have a nice tan one with all the stampings perfectly clear and a crisp blue patch if the winner of that one wants to contact me.

Hi Guys, For sure that one is a very nice looking glove. I would say it will go for at least 750.00 . I believe there is a rectangle stamped in the palm of this glove but it appears to be very faint.

I would venture to say 975.00 (bad economy right now). Ugh.

Looks like it went for over 1600.00. Apparently the economy is not that bad for some. It appears that the winner was a newbie on the bid (0) items. Hopefully, it was a legit bidder. Have a good weekend.

Not surprised by the price - I don't think the economy effects the people who are buying the top notch stuff.

UNFORTUNATELY THIS WAS JUST ANOTHER CASE OF SHILL BIDDING. SO EITHER THE 2ND HIGH BIDDER WILL GET A SECOND CHANCE OFFER OR THIS GLOVE WILL BE RELISTED AT A LATER TIME. IF ANYONE ON THIS FORUM WAS THE SECOND HIGH BIDDER BEWARE,THIS GLOVE WOULD HAVE ONLY GONE FOR $1125 NOT $1600. JUST A HEADS UP.

wow thats crazy, how did you find that out? Cant you tell ebay and the seller get in some serious trouble?

I don't think you should jump to conclusions about shill bidding without proof - the person selling it sent me a very nice email about the sale and I don't think there was any problems with the sale. He was also very upfront with many people on this forum who asked questions about the glove. Just because it's a new bidder doesn't automatically mean there was a shill bidder.
