What Else Do You Collect?

Obviously, we all collect vintage gloves (loose definition given all the '80's and '90's threads being posted). I was wondering what else all of you collect besides leather? Corvettes? Old fly reels? Wives? Hummels (fess up, someone out there buys that crap!)?

As for me, I've been gathering Yankees stock certificates, vintage Yankees line-up cards, and autographed Yankees World Series ticket stubs.

For a while I was getting into vintage golf clubs and antique golf balls, but it was cutting into my baseball budget too much, so I divested. Found it much more enjoyable playing golf and collecting baseball stuff than the opposite, especially since I can't hit a curve ball any longer!

Beanie Babies, thimbles and Jonas Brothers posters. Yeah, like I have any money left to buy that cool stuff. Baseball equipment only for me.

Old cars are the other thing I collect. I have a 1955 chevy, 1969 camaro, and a 1949 ford. Haha, buying the gloves doesn't phase me after how much $$$ I've shelled out for the car hobby

Indian arrowheads and buffalo nickels. Both of these I collected as a kid. Started collecting gloves much later in life - wish I had started earlier!

Well, I can say I spend my money on gloves only, but that would be a lie, with a 13 year old boy, a 11 year old girl, a 10 year old boy and a 6 month old, I seem to be collecting more Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, High School Musical, and general Disney stuff then I prefer to. But for me it's gloves and Cleveland Indians items.

Gloves collecting is the passion, now mostly pre-war, with box if I'm lucky. Also, Spalding Trophies (and figurals), Spalding Bat (1920 or before), decal bats, college bats, ad pieces and a lot of other display items that go with baseball.
Some boxing. Some football.

I'm thinking I need to start collecting anything Michael Phelps related!

I'm not a collector per se, although I do have a rather large inventory of gloves (80-100), in various stages of dis-repair. I buy, restore and re-sell gloves. Some vintage, some newer. I really enjoy bringing new life to older gloves. I don't make much money at it. In truth, I make barely enough to pay for my time, supplies, and of course, buying more gloves. I've been doing this now a little over 3 years, and if I've made $100 in total profit, that would be a lot. However, the satisfaction that I get from finishing a glove and giving it a new home and a new life,.......... Priceless!!!

Besides gloves we have collections of antique pharmacy items, old books, music stuff, Royal Crown cola advertising, Sporting Goods Dealer magazines, vintage Duke University items. I also started a T205 set but I'm going to have to put that on hold with the house purchase.

Great thread Jerry. It's cool to get to know a bit about everyone else. Many of us are in the same boat with young kids who definitely put a damper on our collecting, but it's worth it. I have an 11 year old daughter and a 7 year old son. So BJ and mushroomknob, I'm feeling ya.

Redsoxfan, I too have a 1955 Chevy. It's a Del Rey. It was my first car in high school. I still have it. I would love to collect cars if I had the means. I would get a deuce roadster, a '40 Ford and maybe a '50 Merc.

And mushroomknob, my very, very first lunch box was an Evel Knievel, or was Hong Kong Phooey the first?

I also have vintage bats, baseballs, Sonnett and OK footballs, volleyballs, boxing bags, etc. It seems that every box I open after moving has a different collection of something in it.
