Earlyish A2000 question

This A2000 looks different. It looks to me to be the transition glove from the shooting star style to the more modern A2000.
Any Idea the year it was made or any other info?

.... I think you better send that glove to me for a thorough inspection before I can give you an informed opinion. I will send it back to you in a couple of years!

Hey, awesome glove! Awesome glove!

On eBay, one can often find old Wilson A2000 glove advertisements cut out of vintage magazines.

The advertisements which show this model from what I can deduce are from 1968 magazines. The second layer of leather on the inside of the thumb is what I'm going on. Man, is that ever gorgeous!

I'll guess 1968 based on that and only that. It's just a semi-educated guess though. Maybe softball66 or the person on this board who knows Earl Malone could help.

If you were ever close to selling this glove, would begging you help?

Thanks for the info oldreliable, I really didn't know anything about the glove except that it was different from my newer a2000. the extra leather stumped me.

On the issue of selling it...well...after giving it a good bath and upgrading the laces I may be tempted. I'm always willing to consider offers and trades for any of my gloves.

Hello Thud,

Here is a link to the ad I was referring to:

It's a Ron Santo ad. Cool!
