Help needed to identify 1930s glove

As someone new to the forum, I'll jump right in by asking for help.

I'd like to identify a glove used by my great-uncle, George Watkins, who played in the National League during the 1930s. Most of his seven-year career was with the Cardinals (1930-1933).

I have one photo from 1930 and two from 1931 that show him with a glove. I've cropped these parts of the photos and linked them here. The 1930 photo is the one showing a portion of the front of his uniform -- one of the "birds on the bat." Unfortunately, the quality of these enlargements is not very good.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
John Watkins

I would agree that it does look like a Rawlings Bill Doak glove - definitely one of the earlier models.

gotta be BD

If George was playing in St. Louis in the 1930s he almost had to have been wearing a Doak Glove. I bet 80% of the Redbirds and a heck of a lot of
major leaguers had their Doaks. :?

That was fast!
