Our "boy" Lin Griffin at it again. He's selling what looks like an XFG7 Rawlings Billy Williams store model glove and says this:
FROM 1969 HEART OF THE HIDE BILLY WILLIAMS PERSONAL MODEL GREAT CONDITION , 1 BROKEN LACE AT BOTTOM OF WEB, EASY FIX. BILLY USED TO THROW HIS GLOVE INTO THE STANDS AFTER THE LAST GAME OF THE SEASON, CAN YOU IMAGINE? RAWLINGS PROMO PIC. OF HIM SHOWS SAME MODEL GLOVE.

The shows same model glove picture of Billy has Billy wearing an open (conventional) back glove and the XFG7 is the Holster closed back.
I'd not heard that Billy threw his glove into the stands at the end of the season. Would like to check that out. This closes in about 5 hours today and up to $56

I saw that one a few days ago. While he doesn't flat-out say this glove was one of William's that was actually thrown in the stands, he is sort of implying that it could be. Or, hopping that the bidder infers that it is.

Kind of shady, but not an outright lie.

By the way, thanks for posting this. I did not realize Griffin was eBay seller "tim455qkf" Now I realize why all of his auctions are private ones!

that's the right seller id

Bret, that's what he does in a lot of his acutions. He implies. The untruth was that the XFG7 he's selling is not exactly like the one pictured on Williams' hand.
Maybe Lin just misspoke.
And yes EBay has figured out yet another way to protect the devious seller by keeping bidder ids private, so they can't be warned. Go figure EBay. Not much policing there.

so instead of the glove being a gamer, he's probably calling it a "samer"
