A2000 repairable?

This is my son's LL coach's glove. It's a early 70's A2000 (best guess as the coach is 51 and he has owned it forever). We were looking for an end of season gift and thought maybe we could get his glove repaired for him. My question is this even salvageable by Earl?

Having had the chance to personally examine some of Earl Malone's work, I would say that he could bring that glove back to life.

The glove I saw had the inner lining replaced, all new binding, a new Wilson patch and new laces. If I recall correctly, the owner paid about $100 for the restoration. And the glove was beautiful!

I've never seen an A2000 with a split palm before (the stitching in the palm area). That should also be an easy fix, if the glove is disassembled for the other work anyway.

I run into a lot of youth coaches that still use their worn and weathered classic A2000's. Guys that bought those gloves back in the day seem to treasure and love them!

I will testify to Earl Malone's work. He restored my glove so that it is almost like a new one. In fact, I am still having to get used to because although it is my old glove, it isn't. Know what I mean? My only question would be about the tears. How does one fix tears?

H-Web ... that is the epitome of a great glove ...
practically brand new, yet still vintage and personal ... I am so jealous.

Awarsoca,

Sorry to hear about your Son’s Coach’s Glove not being able to be Restored. But at least we know it had many great Years of service and is Loved and will be remembered.

H-webman,

That is a beautifully Restored Glove from Mr. Malone. It brings back memories as a kid, where one of my Best Friends who lived across the Street owned an A2000. He’d always save up his Money from Shoveling and Yard Work and buy a new one every couple of Seasons.

All My Best,
John

PATCH

Is the patch new? The stitching around the perimeter of the patch appears to be new.

Can Earl Malone replace faded patches with fresh "USA" ones?

Mr. Malone has replaced a number of Wilson patches with new made in the USA patches for me - always an amazing job (of course he has to replace the binding because the patch stitching doesn't go all the way through).

I enthusiastically recommend him!
