First how rare are Lefty Grove gloves? I have been unable to find out anything on the internet regarding rarity of specific gloves.

Second this glove is in kinda rough shape...what is the best method to clean it up? And lastly how do I restring the thumb and forefinger? Does not look possible?

Welcome!

According to the Vintage Baseball Glove Pocket Price Guide, Grove gloves are common. However, I haven't seen too many pop up lately. This looks to be a later model grove due to the manufacturer - probably mid 40's or so.

As for cleaning it up, there is a bunch of advice in the glove cleaning section but I can offer a few tips. Fast Orange Hand Cleaner would be a great way to remove the black grime that appears to have collected on parts of the glove - some people use a sponge, some a cloth rag - it's up to you. After cleaning with the Fast Orange, I prefer to put lanolin on the glove to condition it - there are other choices and you can find them in the glove cleaning section. The leather on the glove appears to be cracking in many spots so I'm not sure how well the glove is going to clean up.

I think the glove originally had two tunnels in the webbing that now appear to be missing.

Hope that helps a little bit.
