Bickering

Brett, I couldn't agree with you more. There should me a new bickering forum or a gripe colum. It seems as of late I start getting into a thread and people are saying this is wrong, you are wrong, they are wrong, not trust worthy ect. ect. If this was made into a forum we could also access our drama soap opera aside from the glove threads. You know, more choices. LOL

I got an idea. How about if we all act like men instead of a bunch of
glove geeks that can't handle criticism? I don't have a problem with
someone telling me my team stinks or that my glove looks like its been
through an oil bath. As of today there are 503 different opinions on this
forum and they are just that. Opinions.

that is a very good point. If you are responsible enough to post on this forum, you should at least have the common decency to keep those opinions to yourself. Ok, im through with my Dr. Phil moment, sorry

Sorry to burst all your bubbles but there will be no new section devoted to bickering, etc. I've explained my reasons numerous times why I run the forum the way I do. I like joking around as much as the next guy but it doesn't translate well in textual form (even with emoticons) and a lot of times it leads to problems.

Everyone should show some respect and maturity to VintageBrett. Can you imagine if you had to control 500 odd children. Let's please not make VintageBrett job any more difficult that it has to be. I like to come here to read your stories about your gloves, learn from your answers and questions, and indulge in my love love of leather. I think it is important to help each other out with fraud and other such issues, but if one of us decides to buy a glove that looks a little odd that is the decision of the buyer. If someone doesn't like the way a person conditions their glove, keep it to yourself. Collecting gloves is not so important that we have to turn this forum into hyperspace Langley Virginia.

VB, i appreciate your efforts to police this forum and we all can't assume that each person will "play nice".

what i've noticed on forums, email and chat is that we all tend to say things that we normally wouldn't say to someone if we were face-to-face. it tends to give false confidence and removes the human (decency?) element when you aren't in the presence of a warm body.

and as VB has mentioned, humor/sarcasm usually doesn't translate as we intend it when in text or emoticon mode.

i should do my PhD thesis on this topic

The bickering topic was a complete joke. And typed carcasom dosen't translate well in type. It just seems that I get into a thread and somewhere it turns south. Brett, you are a great host and I love the forum. Nothing to change here for me.
