Wanted gloves from the late 50's early 60's
Posted: May 22nd, 2007, 11:43 pmHello everyone, I'm looking for player endorsed gloves from the early 60's. My focus is on players who were playing in the bigs from my birth year 1961. I'm currently buying catcher's mitts and recently picked up a Rawlings (looks like 385)Clint "Scrap Iron" Courtney mitt from jnjvintagesports. I also got an Macgregor DG975 Al Lopez and a Spalding 42-727 Charlie Lau glove from Ron at The Sporting Addiction. If their members of the forum I highly recommend them.
Anyway I'm always looking for more.
My recent wish list would include:
Ron's Ed Bailey HOH
Johnny Romano
Bob Schmidt
Russ Nixon
Hal Naragon
Johnny Blanchard
I don't know if all of these players had glove endorsements I've seen a Romano, Nixon and Blanchard but I don't know about the others.
I'm also in the market for a nice Haddix kitten and a Johnny Callison Trapper, and finally a decent Antonelli.
I'm not too pickey about condition as long as they are solid and tear free. Finger holes are ok and checking in the palms is fine too.
I'm really excited to meet with you guys and hope I can contribute to your collections as well.
