I have just started collecting vintage baseball gloves, balls, bats, etc. I am really interested in Nokona gloves. VintageBrett has indicated that he may have seen a buckleback Nokona, however I am having trouble finding any. If you see one or have one, please let me know.
Thanks!

I"m pretty sure we saw a left handed buckleback fielders glove made by Nokona at some point but I"m not positive. Dad, didn't Don M. have one that he found???

I have the impression that Nocona didn't produce very many buckleback gloves. Definitely very rare. I've maybe heard of four or five. They went to button straps almost predominantly in the 1930s after Mr. Hartman arrived to set up glove production.
Friend here has a G1 Nokona but it's late 1930s with twin tunnel web.
However, I think it's got to be the first (G1) pattern that Mr. Hartman came up with just with modifications for this later model.

I have a Nokona BM72 that is a buckle back first base mitt. It's the only buckle back Nokona that I can remember seeing, but after 17 years I have seen a lot of gloves and can't remember everyone! If you would like me to email some pictures to you let me know.

Well thanks a lot, Lucky Dog Kind!
I saw those buckleback Nokona's earlier today and was hoping that no one else would bid on those auctions!
(Just kidding- I really did see them, but most of the guys on this board probably have already seen them, too

Yes, thank you Lucky Dog Kind. I appreciate you pointing those gloves out.
I believe I was bidding against Crack of the Bat for the buckle-back first base Nokona on eBay. It looked like a beautiful glove and a nice pick up.
Keep me informed as they become available!
