Hi Mike, do you ship to Canada?

I've done it before. If you win one of the gloves, I'll ship it to you. You'll have to wait until I determine postage. That will be whatever it costs, nothing additional. Thanks for asking.

I've got a few more going up tonight, the 29th. There's my extra Spalding PXL Professional, a D&M Full Web and a couple of black 1" webs as well. All set to start low with no reserve. Thanks for checking out the last batch. The sale of these gloves is literally helping me feed my family at this point, so I really appreciate your interest and enthusiasm.

All the Best,

Mike

Mike, I hope everything works out for you. Feel free to list your gloves here before eBay if you want to avoid losing fees, etc. Good luck with your sales!

Thanks Brett,

Everything is fine. Just cleaning house a little. It just felt like the right time to see how some of these extra gloves will do in an auction format. I turn sixty-two in December, so there's a need to piece some $ together between now and then so that I can leave other funds untouched. It's all about planning. Meanwhile there's some nice gloves starting tonight.
All the Best,

Mike

Of course, now that the first batch has ended and I thought did pretty nicely, now the first "the dog ate my homework" story has arrived in my inbox. It seems that a buyer's son bid on a glove using the buyer's id and actually won a glove. So the question is, Can I please cancel the sale because after all it wasn't actually bid on by the id holder; but rather his naughty(?) son?
So, okay I sympathize; but um, isn't this the id holder's bitter pill to swallow (or lucky day) depending on how you want to look at it? I e-mailed back saying that I thought the purchase should stand. I'm curious to see what happens next. I think we've all had situations where some obligation felt maybe unfair or distasteful. What's the expression? Man Up I think works in this instance. What do you guys think? Am I being unreasonable?

Interesting take on it. I think what actually happened is just what he said. Kinda crazy because he bid on a much more expensive second glove and won it and intends to pay for it once this matter of his son's erroneous bid is cleared up.(I'm too curious for words about the son. How old is a kid who can bid on a glove on eBay using his Dad's id. and not have his Dad tell him he has to follow through and honor the bid? What are we talking about here? A five year old? "It's coming out of your allowance, son."). My thinking after about an hour of sorting through this is that life's too short. I sent him cancellation forms for the cheaper glove and I expect that will get me paid for the pricier one. Doesn't teach his son anything, but I guess that's not my job.

Mike I had that exact situation occur on a glove I put up. The "dad" ID user said his son erroneously bid on my glove. It was only a $25 sale, so I cancelled and got more money on the glove when I re-listed.
But, that said, user (dad or mom) is responsible for what happens on their computer ebay use. And with that, they're due a penalty if one wants to pursue it.

I agree with you completely Joe. If one of my kids did something like that (I'm starting to think this is fiction now that you say you got the same story) I would pay the bill and then I'd have an excellent teaching tool for the kids about how one has to follow through with expressed obligations. Additional chores come to mind as a way to "pay" for the glove in question. I just would never saddle a seller with that kind of sob story whether true or untrue. None of this really has anything to do with me. The deal now is that I'm still waiting for the same guy to pay for the more expensive glove he says he intended to buy. Watch what happens now. I have a weird feeling he's going to cave on that one, too.
I've had a few ugly experiences with sellers over the years, but never with a buyer. So this is something new for me.

I've gotten this same excuse, but not in the last 5 or 6 years. Sellers are completely helpless in these situations. I haven't had too many issues over the years but most of the excuses for non-payment are along these lines - I entered the wrong amount, someone in my family is sick or died, etc. Hopefully he'll pay your for the other one he bought. Also, I'm with you on the teaching tool - if my kid did it he'd be buying it!:)

What do you know?!? The buyer just paid for the other glove. This son thing really happened. Nice to close the book on this weird story. Thanks for all feedback. It helped me not blow a gasket. :D
