Denkert G84 Mickey Mantle - Sold

This Denkert G84 Mantle is a bit perplexing, on a few levels. First, condition. If it weren't for a discoloration to the palm area, which somehow doesn't affect the silver stampings, this glove would be mint. I haven't attempted to clean it, though those who have seen it say it would be successful. That said, the back and the inner palm show minimal use while the piping and lacing are perfect. Second, dating. We all know that the first Rawlings Mantle gloves appeared in 1954, but we've never accurately dated Denkerts. Did they infringe on Rawlings' exclusive contract with the Mick, or does this Denkert pre-date the 1954 Rawlings model? In any event, this full, adult sized reddish leather glove is very, very nice.
