Hi Everyone,

I just joined this site and didn't even know it existed until recently. I was digging through some of my old trunks and found two gloves I had as a kid. I even found my American Legion uniform-in perfect shape & my baseball spikes too!
The first glove is a Rawlings R400 T Art Mahaffey Trap-Eze purchased early 1960's.....I can't find any info about this anywhere. Maybe somebody can give me some useful info...such as value, a common glove or rare?,etc. I would say condition is fair- --Is there a rating scale that you all use or go by?...if so I would like to know what it is,etc.

My other one was my high school glove-the MM XPG 6 HOH- purchased in 1968 or 1969.this glove to me appears to be in good condition-leather still seems supple, all lacings in good condition & intact, no leather cracking anywhere on glove-the HOH emblem a little tough to read. Is this considered a rare glove too? What is value? Could I restore it to better condition myself or could I hurt value by doing so? If I could restore myself how would I do it & what product do you all recommend? Are there "professional" restorers out there? If so, are they expensive?

My digital camera is being repaired and may have it back today-anyone want any pictures? I would greatly appreciate any comments, suggestions on the above gloves and thanks---great site! 8)

Hmmm...this question seems familiar....

Did you see the response I posted on the eBay sports memorabilia discussion board? That may have answered most of your questions. You raised a few new ones here- and this is a good place to do it! A second opinion is always valuable and I'm interested to see what others might think about these gloves.

Hi BretMan,

Yes, I just found it and read it on Ebay. I dont know in the glove collectors industry what is really considered very good vs excellent? I know mine is not mint-don't know how any one's could being that mine is approx 42 yrs old. Also, as I asked in my 1st post what can I do to the MM XPG 6 glove to "restore" it to a better looking condition?? ( what products do you recommend?)...or should I leave it alone? I was a little surprised that my Mahaffey glove is worth maybe $30-$50, but that's okay.

Thanks for any further advice you can give me.

You called me a few days ago. I think I gave you some advice on your gloves then. Are you planning to sell or to keep? :?: :?: :?:
