Don't usually do this, but I was wondering if a forum member happened to be the high bidder for the Rawlings George Sisler mitt that closed on ebay last night. If so, I'm curious to know if you'd would be willing to consider parting with it for sale, trade, or a combo of the two. Check out some of our inventory at on our site, and let me know if anything moves you.

Just curious. What was the attraction of this Sisler mitt? I was really surprised at the high price considering the condition. Am I missing something???? No,I did not bid on it.

I was a little surprised, too, though I've owned like seven of them and the endorsement is usually pretty weak (this one looked to be on the stronger side). It will look nice if someone replaces the label but a replaced label just isn't the same to me. Jim has a nice one on his website for sale, and I'd trade one of my nice ones for a real nice older Stall & Dean.

Well, an early Sisler mitt is high on my want list, and has been for a while....I just said to myself that I am not going to settle for a later model, and haven't. With the exception of the patch, this mitt appeared to be one that would clean up, and re-condition very nicely...the endorsement is what sold me. Guess the quest continues, that is unless crackofthebat would like to part with his

Should you ever wish to part with it, please keep us in mind. Also, if you prefer to have a circa 1920's, 34", Geo. H. Sisler, Pro Model 125, Louisville Slugger baseball bat in Ex+ condition to go along with your ball (rather than the mitt), do let us know....
