Gene's daughter lives here in Dallas and I was fortunate to meet her and her husband who had some of Gene's memorabilia he had saved from the Yankees. The couple was also featured on the Antique Road Show when it appeared in Dallas. Gene was sort of overwhelmed by all the luster of the Yankees' cast at that time: Mantle, Ford, Berra etc.. But he played a key role in platooning with Hank Bauer, Irv Noren. His Rawlings store model gloves turn up from time to time and I will keep my eye peeled. Finding a bat might be more difficult though it is possible a game bat of his might show up.
