I agree, it does not serve the intended purpose. Neither does giving a glove a bad description. I got this white glove last night at $62.00 because the description was off

I've thought about this before. In regards to sewn webs I usually find it easier to win a nice glove when eBay is flooded with them. The money gets spread around and there can be bargains. I completely believe similar listings compete against each other.
