I have been in contact with Ken Horton at customglove.com today. All of the new options that are currently being offered on the new Rawlings site can be done through Ken at a much better price. Just thought I would pass this info along.....I can't wait to get my all tan PRO302 HOH 12.75" trapeze with open/conventional back with name, flag and # replacing the oval R.
These are from the Rawlings Phillipines Custom Dept not the St. Louis Custom Shop.

I have no affiliation with them...Just spoke to ken for the first time yesterday. In the process of placing an order for a glove or two and thought I would pass along the info.
I am sure some of you guys have probably bought gloves from them before. Let me/us know what you thought of the service, quality, etc
thanks, Matt

There are new options......If you go to:
http://www.rawlings.com/customglove/
there are new options, new glove models, can switch out oval r for #, etc....They are $299 via rawlings.com or rawlingsgear.com for HOH and $399 for Pro Pref.......however if you call Ken at customglove.com he can do anything with the new options for much less $245 shipped on HOH and $329 for Pro preferred shipped.....They do not have the options up yet on the customglove.com website but if youcall/email Ken he will take care of you. I ordered the HOH at $245, but am thinking about ordering a Pro Pref as well

No dice on the 12.75" open back

Ken at customglove.com called Rawlings to confirm that they could do the 12.75" open back glove a couple of weeks ago...They confirmed that they could as it is on the new custom glove builder on the Rawlings.com website........Ken received a call today that they could not make that glove...apparently they have a ton of bugs on the 2009 Custom Glove builder....and the options listed are not accurate.

I asked about the 12.5" model (PROJD7) with open back with trapeze web which it says it is available as well through the glove builder...no dice......the new glove builder is not accurate......I received a refund...Rawlings custom gloves via the Phillipines/ USA corporate office has some work to do...........I think Bob at the St. Louis custom shop is probably your best bet right now for a truly custom glove with all the bells and whistles....and from the posts here seems to accomodate most requests. I love the craftsmanship on the gloves out of the Phillipines, but clearly they jumped the gun with the new options/custom glove builder. -Matt

Could it be that you'll run into trouble ordering something not typically found such as the glove you described? Maybe the glove configuration program allows combinations that it shoudn't... I know some users want to design a glove they can't buy offf the shelf but maybe the current patterns don't support it. It used to be a "custom" glove just meant your name was put on the glove!

I agree that Bob's shop is probably the best option for a truly unique custom glove but it has been a lot of fun putting together the myriad of custom colors, options and glove sizes and see what they look like on the Rawlings website. I hope Eastbay eventually gives you all of the options found at the Rawlings website and lets you preview them.

It is fun to play with all the options on the rawlings.com glove builder site......however, the options are not available. I ordered a glove via the specs on the website and Rawlings called 9 days later saying there were bugs in the website and they would not build a 12.75 trapeze with an open/conventional back....Fun to play with the site however not reality......Sent an email to a Rawlings Custom Glove rep to see what the story is....will let know what she says.

9 days seems like along to time for them to realize they can not build the glove. How long are the lead times?

So they don't want business??? So maybe they'll complain about a recession, yet not provide what a customer wants....like with the block wall I'm having built right now - two individuals agreed to the job, each backed off without notifing, so a third company got the job. Lousy customer service = tough crap.

Do you know if the HOH gloves through customglove.com are made with oil treated leather?
I would love to get my hands on a Rawlings custom glove made from the non oil treated tan leather like the exclusive Rawlings gloves Don Morton Sports offers at ballgloves.com.

By the way just bought a sweet Rawlings HOH PRO1000HC Horween H web 12" from Don Morton.....It is awesome, great horween leather...call me weird but I love the smell of the horween leather!
