Most times buy it now auctions on ebay are ultimately sold as a lower best offer. Not so this one, which seemed to me to be a bargain at $125. It is a rare and early William Read full web glove in great condition. The black leather with red leather piping would clean up to be stunning. The logo stamp on the face is amazingly intact.

Oh man, that hurts. If the person that bought it wants to make some money…

Yeah, I thought you might have won it Brett. Too bad.

A Spalding "Babe Ruth" HRS glove sold for $1575. A rare model from the 1930's with the special trap webbing. I've seen model numbers WW and R with that webbing. The glove is in decent shape with an intact cloth patch.

A rare, near mint Spalding model 42-2451 glove sold for $800. It is circa 1970 with all the bells and whistles one would expect from a top of the line glove.

A top of the line D&M Gus Suhr model 600 base mitt circa 1930 sold for $350. Well used but in pretty decent shape. The front factory markings are great.

A sewn web 1932 Rawlings Paul Waner model G116 glove sold for $288. This one shows some wear and ink but is redeemed by its rarity and super pocket stamps.

The Waner glove was cool - I'm guessing the ink scared people off because that's a tough HOFer name on a higher quality glove.

Beside the Waner model, Rawlings had a bunch of top of the line sewn web gloves in their 1932 line up. the catalog mentioned various players preferred that webbing.

A rare Schemlzer full web glove sold for $250. Not sure who manufactured the glove for Schemlzer but it looks to be high quality and in good condition.

A super rare and high quality Norman glove sold for $688. It is a really stunning white leather glove made even more so by the cool 1926 Denkert patented back panel.

The Norman is sweet!!

And I’m ecstatic to see Mike back posting these gloves of the month…it got very bland for awhile.

I know it must take a lot of time for you to go through the listings and to post all these gloves each month…but it’s true without a doubt, how much of an asset to the hobby it is to have you back posting…it’s nice to see these rare gems and all the history/background as to why it’s a special glove. Very cool and one of the main reasons I enjoyed the hobby so much. Glad to see you back, and a big thanks from everyone in the community for all the time and effort you put into keeping us entertained!!

Big question is…are you collecting again or just enjoying the listings on eBay but not starting a new collection?

Thanks JD and Eric. I'm not collecting again but still enjoy the hobby. Any idea what the S&D Cobb glove sold for? It's a nice one!
