Mark Koenig with a beautiful Wilson glove. Their top of the line at the time was the Rogers Hornsby. Catalog listing on JD's website is from 1927.

Brooks R at spring training in 1957 trying out the latest in glove design, the A2000. He stuck with Rawlings.

Another Brooks glove that's in the HOF. Looks like his XPG3 with the H-web.

Ernie Broglio with the cool MacGregor G101. Catalog listing is from 1959.

I like the remnant of the Spider Web on that G101 glove.
Some Al Kaline photos reeling in the years.
1953-54, looks like rookie Kaline with a Spalding glove.

1958, a Wilson Shooting Star model.

1965, another Wilson A2000 model with a pretty intricate web.

Kaline began to use an A2000 model with a special order single post two bar web in the late 60's.
The glove below is stamped pro number 1265 and most likely from the early 70's

The Kaline gamer below is also stamped 1265.

Ball players who used the A2000 would make for a really long list. Like Al Kaline, Harvey Kuenn didn't go with Wilson from the start. He used a Rawlings during his rookie 1952-53 seasons but endorsed Wilson a year later. Below is his Wilson Franks 1954 card. His A2000 in the next photo is from 1961 at the earliest but it has the '58-'59 web. And he used a special order A2000 with the H-web just like Kaline's.

Phil Rizzuto again with fellow rookie Jerry Priddy in 1941. They're using those unique strap web gloves, Priddy with the narrow wrist strap and Rizzuto with a wide one. The closest I could find from JD's Glove Gallery was this Spalding Professional model.

Phil went with a wide Rainey trap web in 1942. That's Marty Marion next to him.

Those are super photos Greg!
Found this on Hunt's. A Christy Mathewson photo used as a basis for a T206 Tobacco card.

The glove is interesting. It looks like the cloth patch was scooched over to take into account the two button holes. The patch reminds me of the elongated Reach patch on their early models.

The cloth patch on the Mathewson glove above also resembles Strawbridge & Clothier Sporting Goods.

Tigers infielder Dick Tracewski sporting a Rawlings uncatalogued special order XFG 2 model in 1969. The XFG 1 first appeared in the 1968 catalog. The most obvious difference between the two being the basket web of the XFG 1 and the more conventional web of the XFG 2.

Nice sleuthing on the Mathewson glove Mike.
Pitcher Les Munns in 1936 with a unique glove/mitt. As far as I know only two of these have turned up over the years. Neat to see that Les used his own signature model.

I find very few photo's of 1930's players using Ken-Wel gloves. Here's Vito Tamulis in 1936 with a beauty and possibly their flagship model.
