The Waner brothers with Rawlings' latest innovation circa 1941.

Grainy photo of Dazzy Vance who was with the Cardinals 1933-34. That white Ken-Wel tag still stands out.

A bit of a Ted Williams retrospective. There's a better photo of Ted's D&M G92 Chuck Klein model as a rookie in 1939 on a earlier post. Could be that he used the same glove when he was 17 or 18 years old in San Diego of the PCL. The other photo is a different look at it from 1939.

Looks like Ted went with Rawlings after that. The photo from JD's gallery is of a Doak 5BD. I honestly don't know if Rawlings used that more streamlined H-web on their other models.

Ted started endorsing Wilson in the late 1940's. His model 614 was a few dollars shy of their TOTL unendorsed models, but the leather was just as superb. Catalog photo is from1948. His and Lefty Gomez' PM's were Wilson's TOTL for most of the 1950's. Looks like he's equipped with the original A2000 in the ad at bottom.

Rogers Hornsby went to Mexico in 1944 as the player/manger of Veracruz. Looks like his Wilson triple tunnel is missing the center part of the web. The player on the far left is Willie Wells and in the center is Ramon Bragana, a legend of Mexican baseball. Hornsby was never the easiest guy to deal with and he left nine days later after a salary dispute with the team's owner.

Ray Dandridge was one of many great players who went to Mexico during that time. He was with the Mexico City Red Devils from 1945-47, and was part of the legendary 1940 Veracruz team managed by Martin DiHigo. The wrist strap button on his glove makes me think it was made in Mexico.

Lefty Gomez with an interesting grommet web 3-finger. I don't know what year the photo is from. His first season with the Yankees was 1930, but he was in the minors in 1928-29. Guess that's my rationale for him using a glove that Rawlings no longer made after 1927. It's the only one I've found with that style of web.

Cool photos Greg. Interesting review of Ted Williams gloves through the years. Also, the Rawlings three finger model is a new one for me. I do like that webbing.

I wonder if one has ever been found. I couldn't find an example in JD's glove gallery.
