Honestly, idk for certain either, but I would guess that it's his G105. Oddly enough I just picked up a really beat up Mays GC28 from 1963. I swear it has the same web lacing as Joe Morgan's 1970's MacGregor's.

Was just checking out a Mays GC28 in JDs gallery, very similar indeed! Now for a couple of glove pictures for the Dodger fans. First one up is Pee Wee Reese and his Rawlings Mort Cooper followed by a blow-up of said glove. Third pic is Gil Hodges posing with a Denkert Gil Hodges model. Tried to find a picture of an example but couldn't. Anybody seen one?

Cool photo's. Gil Hodges' Denkerts turn up on ebay pretty regularly. This one is on there right now.

A couple of Andy Pafko photo's from 1945 using the distinctive Wilson outward seam model. It became his signature glove in the early 1950s. Love the "hunting boot leather" in the catalog description. Yeah, it's a substantial glove.

Lefty Gomez with a D&M three finger model glove in the late 1930's. Normally, the D&M three finger models had a tunnel loop web. This one had the double tunnel webs.

Eric, nice Mays tribute. Regarding the Gil Hodges mitt, I saw the one Greg posted from ebay as well. Thought I had found a match when I first saw it but looking at it closer I realized it wasn't quite the same. The photo below is John Blanchard with a Rawlings DB7 X mitt. A little unusual as I always thought the DB in the model number stood for double break. The Rawlings DB7 Blanchard that appears in their catalogs is a double break as well as the other DB models listed.

Jim Piersall in 1963 with an arm full of top shelf gloves, MacGregor's GC10 and GF5 and two Wilson A2000's. The GF5 didn't appear in their catalog until the following year.
Didn't realize you were trying to match the exact mitt, Derek. My mistake.

A pre 1900 Princeton team.

The catcher bottom left has a Decker patent mitt with hook and eye back.

Below is a 1891 catalog entry. A hook and eye Decker mitt hasn't been posted to JD's glove gallery yet.

Mike,
Really enjoy your posts of the earlier days of baseball. My knowledge of the game is somewhat limited so I'll just stick with the newer stuff (you know, the stuff that's only 50-70 years old, ha ha).
That said, here's Ernie Banks with his Wilson A2810 basemitt which first appeared in the 1967 catalog.

Lloyd Waner with a couple 3 finger gloves. The one with the white tag has me thinking Bill Doak.

a sampling of 19th century baseball photos from Brockleman's Auctions.
An 1884 Los Angeles team photo. Love the uniforms. Quite ornate.

A couple of farm boys. The one on the right has an early Decker patent mitt. Because the mitt was stiff, the break was across the pocket.

The baseball team jackets are cool. Also, the two tone high top shoes.
