I think I know what I want my first collection items to be: birthday gloves. I was born in 1961, my southpaw firstbaseson was born in '91, and my righty thirdbaseson was born in '95. I would like to have USA-made gloves, made in each of those three years, to commemorate our relationship with each other and with baseball.
First, I would love to find a 1961 Wilson A2000. My brand of choice is Wilson, because it just fits my broad palm better than a Rawlings.
Second, my southpaw had a Rawlings "lucky glove" that he just wore to pieces, literally. I would like for him to have a quality Rawlings HOH, made in America in 1991, fielder's glove/pitcher glove, OR first base mitt.
And third, my righty seems like a Nokona kinda guy. If I could find a '95 Nokona for him to play the hot corner, that would be pretty sweet.
