My Belated Intro

Postby wareagle34 » October 2nd, 2007, 3:43 pm

Hello fellow glovers and first let me apologize for my transgression of forum etiquette by not introducing myself sooner, but I am WarEagle34 from Auburn, Alabama, known as the loveliest village on the plain and home to my beloved Auburn Tigers. War Eagle is our battle cry and general greeting to all friends, and opponents. 34 was the number of former Auburn running back, homerun hitter, bat cracker and possibly the most gifted athlete of the 20th Century, Bo Jackson.
I myself have been collecting gloves since 1991 and have been concentrating on collecting players from Alabama and the Birmingham Barons. I am a member of The Friends of Rickwood, which is an organization dedicated to the preservation of Rickwood Field, America's oldest baseball park built in 1910.
I enjoy the hunt and love the find.
Chuck

Hello Jackwhale, yes Auburn had a very good weekend hope there is more to come. I've often wondered how people pick their forum ID's, like jackwhale that's an interesting name what's the story behind it?

I'm not sure what Bo is doing now he was working with Healthsouth, traveling the country putting on shows that promote fitness for kids.

jack whale is my actual name..i was named after my grandfather whose nickname was jack...some people have thought that 'jackwhale' refers to horney adolescent whales, so i kept it

i could use GO BLUE i went to univ of michigan...the cheering by us old wolverines is certainly muted this season.

thanks

Your name sounds like a name straight out of a Jack London novel. Your season started off rough also. We both can count out a national championship, but it could always be worst; we could be Notre Dame fans.

Go ahead and use Go Blue! It's that time of the year and although this is a baseball related forum, I think Brett would allow alittle football rivalry for a few months. I know we are not the only two college football fans in the forum, so if you're out there show your colors.

Cowboy, somehow I knew we'd be hearing from you.

Jackwhale that team you described might have uglier uniforms than Minnesota. Naw, no way.
