I think you're right Mike. Cool.
There's a supposed Maury Wills gamer on ebay now with the RSP stamping. Guess Rawlings did use that at least for one line of their pro stock gloves.

A couple of Al Kaline photos. The first is Al wearing a 1958 Wilson A2000, the second a Wilson promotional pic.

Love that store display. Nellie Fox was another longtime Wilson endorser and I think he's wearing his personal model in these photo's. It has the same closed heel as the ones in the catalogs, like this one from 1957. The SI cover is from 1959. Plus a pretty good look at Luis Aparicio's glove, an Al Dark PM.

Really like that photo of Aparicio fielding the ball and being able to see the stampings on the palm of his glove. That particular Al Dark PM (Spalding 1061) was a one year only glove from 1959.

Good eyes again Greg. Cool photo!
Below is Hoyt Wilhelm with his catcher Joe Ginsburg in 1960.
I get tired of going through imgur all the time.
just click on the images to expand.
Hoyt is using the Wilson A2000 model with the external finger lacing removed.

Joe on the other hand is using a mitt specially made by Wilson.

Here's the story of the Paul Richards mitt.

Since I was lucky enough to get my Wilson knuckleball catchers mitt from Mike many years ago, I have since added this wire photo and newspaper ad to go with it. These are so big that a baseball feels like a golf ball in the pocket.

That mitt is almost comically big. But evidently it worked. I remember Bob Uecker's advice on catching the knuckle ball, "just let it roll to the backstop and walk back to pick it up." It's great to be able to look through all the catalogs on JD's website. I still refer to my Catalog Source Book, but looking at an image of the glove helps in so many ways. Thanks again to the people who made that happen. I found a couple of photo's of Carl Yasztremski with a brand new Spalding H-web. The one of him in the outfield is supposed to be from 1966, but idk for certain. It may be the same glove in the photo with Ted Williams. After reading Mike's Special Order Gloves posts, I'm betting it's a 42-203 Yaz PM. If Bobby Mercer had one, why shouldn't Carl?

Greg, I believe you're right on the Yaz mitt, just missed the X off of the model number. JD had one in his #29 sales list. Maybe if he spots this post he can put up a photo. Meanwhile here's a photo of Yankees great Elston Howard wearing a Rawlings NWC Elston Howard.

This one's a bit of an oddball. It's Ferguson Jenkins gamer from 1971. It's a TG12 X model. Unlike the conventional TG12, this one's a fastback model. It sold in a Goldin auction around 5 yrs ago for $2760. Fergie is shown wearing it or one just like it.

Great glove photo's Derek. And that Yaz PM is a beauty. I have a Colavito PM 1103 and can see why the pro's liked that model and the Rawlings XPG3.
I found a few Joe Morgan photo's and wound up going down that rabbit hole. You've probably heard the story about how Nellie Fox influenced his glove choice, not only to use a smaller glove but to also stick with a simpler, old school web. Morgan was a rookie in 1964-65 while Fox was at the end of his long career.

Don't know which model Wilson it is, but the web lacing is a throwback to their mid to late 1950's gloves.

This Morgan gamer was posted by Mike on the "Earliest A2000 Model?" thread. Wilson made it for Joe in the mid 1960s and it's based on their 1961 pattern with the even earlier Triple Lock Web, but laced old school again.

Greg, Looks like Joe found a style he liked and stuck with it. I have no idea what that glove with the Astros may have been but here's a couple of photos from an Invaluable auctions listing. It shows what looks to be the same glove as the one he's wearing in the Cincy picture. I believe it is reproduction as I've also seen it on a couple of other websites (same pictures) ranging in price from $50.00 up to $600.00.

Three nice early Willie Mays photos. The first one, from 1951, his rookie year. I've studied the glove, I'm leaning towards a Rawlings but can't say for sure. Anyone have any guesses? The second is Willie with what is likely a Rawlings HH, since it's known he did use one during the mid 50s. Obviously a Macgregor spider web from around 1957 in the third. Could it be a G105 Mays PM? I doubt we'll ever know for certain.
