A 1920's sewn web Rawlings model B425 glove sold for $400. Nice looking black leather model. This one didn't last long on ebay.

A trifecta of rarities at bargain basement prices!
A 1950's Benlee brand two finger glove sold for $32. Benlee was mainly known for their boxing gloves. This one features a one piece pocket/web. It's a cool looking glove and super rare. A little tidying up and it's a $125 glove all day long!

A rare 1920's Alex Taylor Brand catchers mitt sold for $25. It was made by Stall & Dean and was one of their top line mitts. A perfect candidate for spiffing up! The black leather with white leather piping should clean up nicely. A $175 mitt all day long!

A 1940's J.C. Higgins "Augie Galan" glove sold for $21. A super clean glove in great shape. It features the rare double laced fingers. A little TLC and its a $125 glove all day long!

One more nice one from the bargain bin.
A Marathon base mitt sold for $20. Although a lower end model, this one is in great condition and really stylish with the maroon piping, tan and contrasting dark leathers. It may have been made by Dubow given the diamond stitching on the wrist strap. I particularly like the sewn on glove to the back panel.

A couple of Doak gloves destined to go up on JD's gallery as top contenders.

A 1920's Rawlings "Bill Doak" glove sold for a BIN of $300. Collectors gotta love the BIN's from the uninformed. The markings are a little obscured but this one is in fantastic original condition. I'm sure those markings can be teased out with a bunch of Q-tips and a little care. Don't mess with the patches, they're perfect.

A 1940's Rawlings "Bill Doak" model H glove sold for $722. A beautiful looking glove with a nice box to boot. This one was bidded up high. As JD has stated, The complete package is the ultimate for a collector. Those patches shine like light house beacons.

Thanks for the posts Mike. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t see most of the gloves that sold unless I did a completed search.

Thanks guys!!
I guess this is the month for nice Rawlings gloves/mitts. Robbie must be ecstatic. I heard he was changing his handle to "draperandmaynardrawlingstoo"
This circa 1938-40 Rawlings basemitt sold for $60. It's a model FB142. It looks to be in good shape. I like the full perimeter lacing. This one displays all the whistles and bells of the oven mitt style right before the advent of the trapper

A teens-twenties Spalding sewn web glove sold for $502. A midline model in great shape with nice black leather.

From the same seller, a teens-twenties Spalding base mitt sold for $92. This is a top of the line model ABX with a buckle web and fastback feature. The front is stamped "Stick on the Hand" below the Spading logo. I figured this one would go much higher so never paid attention to the auction. Pretty much a bargain.

A 1920's sewn web Denkert "Heinie Manush" model glove sold for $330. This glove is a rarity in terms of quality and the endorsement. Every other sewn web Denkert on JD's gallery is a mid to low-ender. This one on the other hand is a real gem. The Manush endorsement is pretty common on the Marathon gloves but rare on a Denkert brand. Early Denkert catalogs are non-existent so hard to compare models. Makes one wonder how many other high end Denkert sewn webs are out there.

A Rip Collins ambidextrous glove sold for $4200. Collins went to work as a salesman for Wilson Sporting Goods after his pro career. He designed this ambi glove in the 1950's as a sales gimmick when on the road. It's been around the hobby since the early 1990's and was featured in an old issue of the "Glove Collector Newsletter".

A Rawlings "Elston Howard" HOH model NWC mitt sold for $399. Basically the same condition as the one auctioned last month for $66. Go figure. I guess Venus was ascendant and Mars was in retrograde. Yeah, that explains it!

A sharp Tryon sewn web glove sold for a quick BIN of $149. This looks to be a top quality model. I think the black leather will clean up nicely.

A crescent pad Reach base mitt sold for $307. Overall in good shape except for a large hole in the palm liner.
