As someone who has been selling some gloves on ebay lately, I've accepted the fact that there's just no predicting how they will do. One glove that I'd swear would bring $150-$200 sells for half that price, another one that I was hoping to get $50 for sells for $200. I've looked at gloves on ebay for 17 years now and thought I had a decent handle on prices, but the only thing I'm fairly certain of is this; if you have a 2,3, or 4 collectors who really, really want that glove it will do really well. And if you don't, it usually won't. Sadly, that's all I know.
With the 4100 gloves listed in the Vintage Baseball Gloves section, I can see how some of them just fall through the cracks unless you check ebay every day. My guess is that 90% of them will never sell for their listed prices and they're just clutter.
That Ripon ambi is a head scratcher for me. If I had that kind of money to spend, that glove wouldn't crack the top 100 of my wish list. But, that's just my opinion/preference and one more thing that make this hobby so fascinating.
