Anyone want to show what they think was the glove of the year. Was there a big find? A drop dead terrific glove? Show it to us

How 'bout everyone just identify their own two or three best pick ups of the year and share them?? Those "best of the best" pieces are bound to be in there somewhere.

I'll play along. This was my favorite pickup in 2012. The seller was actually crazy enough to let it go :D (It probably wasn't old enough for him, sorry, couldn't reist). I have been very patient since the mid-1990's and traced its lineage throughout the years. I finally got it and it's not going anywhere for a long time I hope.

This was my favorite 1" web acquisition this year. It's a black Norman and goes well with my white and burgundy Normans. I needed the black. Normans are some of the softest most supple gloves around. Thank you Jared for thinking of me on this one. Love it.

JD, I like that workman's model. It had to be one of Jerry's. Really rare in that condition and a leather interior to boot. It is so nice. Don't remember seeing it on the forum before. My two have been on the forum already. Both came from other collectors. thanks! Nothing I got from ebay this year comes close to these.

Wow, those are stunning gloves guys. I am always amazed that gloves of that vintage can be found in that kind of condition.
My three favorite pick ups:

Geo. Reach Rainey trap web that Brett found and was kind enough to pass along to me.

Joe Cronin D&M. The catalog listing is from 1931.

Ewell Blackwell MG. I thought Goldsmith stopped making the extended palm/stubby finger gloves in the late 1930's. Glad I was wrong about that. :)

So you're the one who got the Ewell Blackwell glove. That is a good find. I didn't think of the 1930's Goldsmith extended palm models like Paul Derringer but You're right, it is the same design. I like the look of it on your MacGregor Goldsmith version.

Hi Guys,

Wow!!! Some very nice gloves you guys picked up. I really don't recall picking up any gloves this year. Maybe my memory is just not too good but more than likely just did not have luck getting a glove to fit my collection.

JD you got took on your glove as it doesn't even have a web in it. LOL and John you got took on one your gloves too as it has a missing web too. Actually guys terrific finds.

I doubt either of you will be parting with those old gloves for a long, long time. vbg

OkDoak, That is one cool black jewel stubby finger glove. As I recall a few moons ago, I traded you a Derringer glove and glad we did the trade as I am enjoy the funky threaded glove you traded me too.

Mike, Cool glove and mitts. You and the others have some great gloves.

Enjoy the Holidays guys.

Forgot to mention; I made an offer on the BIN original Doak with the seller from Washington State (the one you might have seen ending Tuesday night). I was so close to his asking price that when he said "no" to my $137.00, I said "yes" to his $150. It just seemed like the right thing to do. Photos seemed to be saying it's in really good shape. And I just had my birthday, so I guess it's a birthday present to myself.

I was wondering what happened to the Wm. Read glove. It was for sale on JD's site for a second then gone. I like the arrow head wrist strap and quick release roller buckle. A rare brand too. Here is an ad I came across.

This one sold at $500 - guessing someone got it ended early. Would have liked to see it go the distance. Interested to know what the tag says.

Oh Brett, you already know the answer to that question. That tag's style is as clear as day. :D

Didn't even see it listed, though I rarely do. Did the seller end the auction early? Foolish if so.
