Crazy glove-cleaning issue

Postby robert1977 » July 29th, 2012, 12:31 pm

I've had so many great conversations on here that I'm now hoping you all can help me with a cleaning problem.

I bought a Wilson A2105 Ball Hawk for $3 at Goodwill about a month ago. Obviously it's an awesome glove — except for one thing. Someone put bright orange acrylic paint all over it.

Now, this might seem like the dumbest thing ever. But get this: The paint completely protected the stamps, and the leather beneath the paint is in great condition.

While I've cleaned a majority of the mitt by simply bending the glove and peeling the dried paint off, I'm having some issues cleaning off the small flecks left behind. Does anyone know a good and safe way to remove acrylic from leather? At the rate I'm going, it'll take me three months to clean this thing.

Thanks to anyone who responds.

Best,
Robert

Have you tried any Hand cleaners? JOE"s or Fast orange?

I haven't. Do you think that would work?
