I like BIN with Best Offer options, and sometimes make offers much less than the BIN price (as mentioned above, which I deserve a commission on). However, I find it real awkward to make an offer significantly lower to a fellow glover because I assume that they put a lot of thought into their BIN price. Take that Macgregor three above, I wanted it at a certain price, but was afraid to offend Joe with a lower offer. Good thing, because it did end up going a little higher than I wanted it for (because I have a similar model already, but that model is a nice one).

I really don't mind automatic rejections at all, and actually prefer them to the ones that time out for lack of a response. As for the Gehrig, I think Gehrig fielders models are very cool and I want one one day. This one looks great and someone will jump on it eventually, but for whatever reason I tend to shy away from repaired gloves, though the work on this one looks great.

I agree with Rob on this Best offer BIN question. When I see "Best Offer" offered by a seller, unless it feels like it would be insulting to the collector/seller I generally offer around 60% of the BIN price. The only reason I do this is because I've had pretty good success with it. The first few times I tried it, I got a thumbs-up response so quickly I almost thought I could have done even better. You just never know what's in the seller's mind.
But then a glove like the Nokona Joe Jackson we've seen listed a couple of times comes up. I would really like to own one of those and the one in question is a beauty. I simply am not going to propose 60% of their BIN price because I know it's not enough. One of these days I'll find one I can afford.

I couldn't decide to give this mitt the I'm green with envy award or the Rick Springfield I want what you got (aka Jessie's girl) award. Either way, this creme colored D&M basemitt was a looker going for $264. Nice looking mitt with a cool name IMPERATOR!

Congrats to the winners!

My guess was that this was won by a US Military artifacts collector. The size of the winning bid reminds me of instances where a contingent from that group steps in and posts bids. Trying to match up the model # using the Source Book is tricky. Might this be a Schalk or maybe a Hornsby mitt?

Got the Gehrig in the mail today and it is fantastic. It has no ink or damage outside of some usual wear in the lining. Don't have any Peerless Gloves in my collection. Jerry said he never cleaned the glove and I may make a run at that.

Love to look at this listing, keep up the great work on updates and pictures!!!

Picked up this one yesterday on a BIN or Best Offer, Best Offer. Funny, I just parted with a very nice old Ken-Wel base mitt last week, and here comes this one steaming up the tracks. This from the guy who's also currently selling a nice looking Joe Stripp glove. Can't wait to get a look at it and clean it up a bit :D .

Mike, I wondered what had happened to the Ken-Wel mitt, and why it had disappeared so quickly! Congrats to you. Be sure to show it off when it is cleaned up. I want to see what you do for the webbing.

Back to Ebay:

The Gehrig fielder's glove sold for $532.57 I thought this was fair considering the work done on this particular glove. I believe I saw one go for a little higher, but it was in its original state. Thoughts (if any)?
532.57.jpg

Wow! This Yogi Berra mitt went for $510. Great picture pocket! A real stunner! That's what I'm talking about! Go Vintage!
