Incredible old baseball photos

Postby johnmilner » February 16th, 2011, 9:39 am

I'm not sure how many members here have seen these threads over at Baseball fever, but there are some seriously incredible old photos.
I found them through a google search for Mathewson.
There are a lot of glove shots too!

Darnit. Just went through all the pages of the first thread. Absolutely incredible. It's official. I'm not getting anything done today. Thanks for posting.

Great series of photos!

Why is this first baseman leaning on the foul side of the bag?

Proof that A.J. Reach was the greatest glove manufacturer of its time - even Lajoie used one. I blew up the picture. Or maybe it's because he was on the Philadelphia Athletics.

No problemo guys!
When I hit the first thread my jaw hit the floor, and my morning was spent.
With the player photo threads my day was done.
LOVE the fact that there are so many great shots of gloves in there.
Some of the player portraits are incredible especially when most of them look like they're in their 50's, but in reality most are in their 30's!!
