Need Some help on an old basemans mit - Ed Konetchy model

Postby Studboy » May 8th, 2007, 12:37 am

Just picked up an old Goldsmith baseman's mit because the back looked cool, started cleaning it and found it is a Ed Konetchy model. Top says Goldsmith Profesional & I see no model number. I didn't see this endorsement listed in Joe's pocket guide & the last source book I own is the 1996 edition. Can anyone tell me what year this was issued. I see Ed played from 1907-1921. Also, what sort of webbing (if any) do you think it had?

Any help/thoughts would be great.

We've got about 20 names to add to the new glove price guide when it's ready. Ed's is one of these. I think I already had him down.
The mitt appears to me to about a 1910 to 1920 mitt with that horseshoe binding on the back and the buckle wrist. There could have been a lace running from the thumb to the palm perhaps thru one of the grommeted laces.
