Hi Cindy,
The age of the glove you're guessing at is just about right. Without a definite model number to pinpoint it exactly, a good "ballpark" figure for this style of glove would be about 1940, give or take a few years.
I wish that I could tell you that you have some rare and valuable find- unfortunately, that is not the case. Possibly, this glove may have more sentimental value to you as an item from your family's history than it would have as a collectible old glove.
It is, obviously by the stampings, a softball glove. Generally there is not too big of a collectible demand for these gloves- certainly not as much as for baseball gloves of the era that bear the endorsement stampings of popular Major League players.
Personally, I do have a few softball gloves in my collection, as I like the vintage look and they are easy to find. You can see some pictures of vintage softball gloves on my website (a link is below, in my signature).
I could not make out a brand name from your pictures, but this glove might possibly be a George Reach brand. I believe that company stamped many of their gloves with the "For All Softball Games" logo.
The low demand for these gloves tends to keep the collectible value down. A fair price for one of these in really good condition might be around $30. With the condition issues on this one- torn lining, missing web between the thumb and forefinger and lots of wear- you might be lucky to get half the good condition price.
Hope this information helps!
