I just bought that Pro AR13 on Ebay

Postby Paulypal » November 23rd, 2008, 1:29 pm

I know I overpaid, but this is the first glove I ever bought simply for collection, and or to sell later on. Usually I get gloves to use.

I agree that this glove will be on sale come late winter, but what the heck.

I was one of the bidders you beat out at the last minute. But I will not have been using it to collect. I would be using it. All my gloves get use I can't just have them sitting around feeling unwanted.

I tried to find the new one listed on ebay, so yeah, if anyone can post an image of the glove or a link to it I'd like to check it out too.

Both auctions have closed. Here are the links to the AR13 and another RV23:

I just bought one myself from him. He said he does not know if they will be mass marketed or not.

I was the one that won the first glove for auction. I spoke to Billy today and was told that the gloves was made for Arod, thus pro shop glove, but I believe like hrking that they are the first batch of a mass produce glove to come. I also have the RV23 model that I purchased on ebay and will match both gloves upon arrival of the AR13. From first sight I can already see differences that were already pointed out in another post like the difference in the material used in the thumb area, and the HOH stamp on inside of glove in the AR13. Regardless I love the dual hinge post and will be happy to use the AR13; cannot use the RV23 that I paid almost 4x as much.

Any reviews on the AR13 glove? Comments on feel, weight etc? Thanks in advance

I like the glove. Great pocket, and I love the web. Also a great fit on my hand. It would be great in the field without a doubt. Its not a heavy glove but heavier than I thought considering the mesh back.

Personally I just cant get with the mesh back. I put it back on sale on Ebay.

I receive my AR13 and while it doesn't compare in quality to the PRORV23 it is very nice. The AR13 has oil treated leather while the RV uses black dry. The AR13 also has the big hand opening that you see in any pics of AROD. The autographed RV does not have a big opening. The AR13 also has less mesh as it does not use mesh on the thumb area. The AR13 comes in broken already. You can literally use it right away. Wonder how long it will last with every day use. If Rawlings does mass produce the glove I hope that they will use black dry instead of oil treated leather. Below is a list of my troika of mesh back glove. The first one is the Louisville mesh back from Don Morton and the I-web Rawlings is from Varsity Baseball.
