Laser engraving?

Postby awarsoca » November 6th, 2008, 12:13 pm

Did anyone else get them email from Rawlings Gear yesterday? I knew they would laser engrave bats, but they appear to be laser engraving your glove to personalize it now as well.

I was at the Rawlings Outlet Store last month and spoke to the guy about the lazer engraving on the gloves he stated it is like a burning into the leather. I did not see the results so I can't say how it looks.

engraving

Postby glovefan » November 11th, 2008, 5:14 pm

i had this done on one of my gloves a few years ago. It is a light color properferred and i just thought of the idea because i saw like trophies and stuff with lettering lasered in on leather. i just took it to a local trophy shop and had it done for i think 18$. it was totally worth it and it looks kinda cool and there are like an infinate amount of options on fonts and stuff but the part has to be pretty flat for the laser to burn.
ill post the pics of it later tonight.

Wow, that looks really nice. I like it a lot. And $18 is a good deal.

ya it has held up well and is pretty superficial so i dont think it hurts the leather very much but u can choose how deep to make the laser burn. i dont know how it would look on a black glove but it shows up nicely on a light colored glove :p
